Bout of Books 15 Read-a-thon wrap up
Bout of Books readathon 15 is over. Sunday was the last day to reach our goals and I definitely did that. On the last day of readathong I've started "Uncle Montegue's Tales of Terror" by Chris Priestley and read 82 pages. In total 1070 pages.
And now just review what I managed to do until Sunday:
Monday
Pages I read: 314
Firstly, I finished reading last 138 pages of "The Green Mile" by Stephen King. This book was one of the best books from Stephen King, that I've read so far. It was like riding a roller coaster of feelings. This gem made me feel sad, mad, happy and frustrated, it made me feel all the feels. It will definitely stay with me for a long time. I have no complaints for it, it was pure perfection to me.
Then I started and finished "Akis" by Rimvydas Stankevičius. I hated it from the beginning until the end. I'm glad it was only 82 pages long. I felt like I was reading a text from a person, who looks around him and writes list of the things, that he sees around. It convinced me, that poetry is not for me. The only thing, that I took from this book was the headache.
And finally I started rereading "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" by J.K. Rowling and managed to read 94 pages that day.
Tuesday - Friday
Pages I read: 123 + 107 + 102 + 174
During the week I couldn't force my self to read more than I usually do, actually I felt a little burned out after Monday. So I decided to relax and enjoy what I read instead of thinking about page count. And on Friday my reading slump was over. I finished rereading Harry Potter and like usual felt all the feels. It was a great conclusion to this epic series and I loved it as much as did reading it the first time.
Saturday
Pages I read: 168
On Saturday I started "Mano norų sąrašas" by Gregoire Delacourt and read it in one sitting. I have to admit I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. The writing style was quite interesting, it felt like I was reading a diary, except it wasn't one. Main character was relatable and down to earth. Just a simple woman with her feelings and experiences. And I have to say, that the ending was quite unexpected.
And that was my week in reading. I'm already waiting for May and another round of this event.
